National park game rangers,SACOLA (Sabyinyo Community Livelihood Association) in charge of protecting mountain forests in Musanze district travelled to Ntarama Genocide Memorial Site to mourn victims of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.
Leaders of SACOLA said that Genocide is the worst of human kind and every human being should do whatever it takes to say never again.
At the memorial site, the team of game rangers received stories of how the genocide began in Bugesera district.
“The then government which was planning to carry out genocide reallocated Tutsis from a number of Rwandan places to the Bugesera region. Bugesera was then infested with Tsetse fly with wild animals thus Tutsis were being inhabited there to be killed by the two.” Explains a worker at the memorial site
SACOLA Chairman Nsengiyumva Pierre Celestin said “All Rwandans need to strengthen a sense of brotherhood and humanity as what happened in the 1994 genocide against Tutsis is extremely inhuman.”
